Crossing Pistol Squat – Achievable?

Getting after it tonight! This skill called a Crossing Pistol Squat has been out of my reach for a while. Tonight I got it on the left leg and I’m so close on the right. It’s been a learning experience to say the least. I did not use this exercise or even any variations of it in order to achieve it. The last 7 weeks I discontinued most of my training to focus ONLY on independent joint articulations. Meaning, movements in which I have to execute and control the movement at only a single joint at a time relative to the rest of my body. I started doing this when a good friend turned me on to the concept. As I explored and devoured the information I realized that my micro movements were actually pretty poor. The lesson I learned: If you want larger movements to truly improve you need to practice micro movements first. How can you expect a movement to get better if your joints are unable to meet the demand of what you are asking of them? Start refining! You will benefit in ways you didn’t even expect!
