If I have success, what does that mean? And, how am I going to live up to it again?

They know it exists but they do not surrender.
The ones who are defeated by it usually never hear it in the first place.
It has become an unconscious habit and every time they have success in something new, their habitual quitting place appears and they run the other way.
Yes, people can develop a habitual quitting place.
I see it with athletes.
I see it with clients and I have personally lived it.
Everything is a habit.
I’ve had clients and athletes reach way past initial expectations and then get steamrolled by this concept never to be seen again.
Honestly, I find it fascinating.
It’s real life.
It’s normal behavior but we have to find ways to overcome it.
Sometimes a simple conversation with a person to build their awareness is all that is needed!
