The Greater the Load the Greater the Learning
The Greater the Load the Greater the Learning.
I’m not just talking about adding “weight.”
Load is a term that we use to describe complexity.
Exercise complexity comes in many forms and variables.
Think positions, speeds, coordination, timing/tempo challenges, balance/accuracy challenges, band resistance and other training tools.
Complexity drives learning.
Finding the appropriate level of load is essential for maximizing performance.
A person needs to be challenged with enough volume and intensity otherwise there is no logical reason for their brain to change.
People suffer from “under loading” all the time.
They don’t get a desired result because the brain didn’t find the attempts important enough.
People also suffer from “overloading” and they don’t find results usually because they reach their metabolic limit.
What’s the secret?
The brain needs to be challenged at the same time it’s winning!
This is the the art of coaching!
Find novelty and you will find results.
“The greater the load the greater the learning.”
